So I'm Supposed to Send One of These EVERY Week? (2/3/2020)

Well to establish expectations, im not going to send an email every week because im lazy. I have had some awesome experiences in the last few weeks I had my first baptism, I we have some really dope amigos that we are teaching, I have been learning tons of spanish, my trainer abandoned me for three days and I led my sector in a trio, and I have been learning so much about the gospel. But the most important thing I have learned is that I can buy Dr. Pepper here at jumbo (basically Lider (walmart) but better(so basically target)). There's a bunch of small things that I have found that gives me the comfort of home. Honestly there has been soo much stuff that has happened and I can't even remember what half of it was. The weeks have been flying by. As for the cockroaches, we found where they were coming from and promptly declared war on them. So that was a party. As for the missionary work, the blisters on my feet are just a way to see how hard we have been working. The more I contact people the more I come to love the people (even the ones who say they want to write a book about all the bad things he's heard bishops do) and as I come to love the people the more I start to contact more people. Its super cool to see how different working through the spirit changes how you feel about certain things. Like the pain in your feet. No longer hearts as bad. Or even just how talking to people in a different language no longer seems super difficult and it's something you're actually starting to enjoy. Every day I can see myself getting better at listening to the spirit and how its blessing my life.

Mission Report, enero 20, 2020

Okay here is the rundown. Everything here in chile has been super cool. I got assigned to a city called Arica. It's basically spitting distance from peru. So I traveled from mexico by plane to Antofagasta witch took about 11ish hours and then I stayed at the mission home for a night, had a meeting, met my papito elder salazar and then took a 12 hour bus ride to Arica. So I was a bit tired. Im super close to the beach so I can always smell the ocean. Everything here is super humbling. I have actually acclimated and gotten used to almost everything. We have dominos and a Lider (Walmart with a different name but owned by the same company) so I am all good. It's not super hot here, but the sun is very strong. I was outside for about an hour without sunscreen and I turned bright red. Other than that it's super nice here. As for the language It's coming along. I'm learning more and more everyday. Although the more I learn the language the more I realize how bad the Chilean accent really is. The people here are really interesting. I now know that gypsies are real and very crazy. So that was an interesting discovery. Chileans are very friendly people for the most part. They talk to us even if they strongly disagree with us. I have only had a couple doors shut on us, but that might just be because they are curious why this super tall blonde gringo is at their door in a white shirt and tie all sweaty and red living conditions are... interesting. We have a not so small problem with cockroaches. They are everywhere. Its kinda unsettling. But I love it here anyway. We have a special way to take care of them though. It may or may not be a little bit of fire. So things are going well and I am really starting to feel the love that heavenly father has for all of these people and I'm so happy to be sharing this love with them. This is exactly where im supposed to be.
